The Antique Kashan Rugs (Pair)

Price Upon Request

Kashan rugs come from Central Persia and have a long textile tradition, including hand-knotted rugs. These classic Kashan rugs are made by the residents of more than 80 surrounding villages. Superior rugs were manufactured here during the Safavid dynasty (1502-1736). The famous Ardebil rug, which can be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London is considered to be one such example. After a period of decline and subsequently, toward the end of the 19th century, high-quality rugs from this region attracted unwavering demand once again. The patterns consist of beautifully designed medallions, niches, trees and figural motifs and all-over floral motifs. The dominating colours are blue, red and beige.

Please note the rugs are sold as a Pair.
